William Staub Byers, 63, Monroeville, formerly of Meyersdale went to be with his Lord and Savior September 13, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born July 19, 1955 to the late Harry Willard and Mary Estella (Staub) Byers, Jr. Preceded in death by his younger brother, Thomas Edward Byers. Survived by brother, Michael Willard Byers of Baltimore, MD. Aunt, Ferne Kinter of Grantsville, MD. Uncles Blaine E. Byers and John H. Byers both of Las Cruces, NM. Numerous cousins. Bill graduated in 1974 from Gateway Senior High School in Monroeville, attended Community College of Allegheny County – Boyce Campus, attended the General Motors Technical Institute, and he had a PA State Inspection License and a PA Commercial Drivers License. Bill worked at Cochran Pontiac and other GM dealerships before finishing his career at the Pittsburgh Airport Hertz Car Rental Station. Bill was a life long member of the Pontiac-Oakland Club International. He loved classic cars, especially Pontiacs. He had a collection of classic Pontiac Muscle and Luxury cars. He enjoyed attending classic car shows, drag races, car cruises, loved dogs and enjoyed taking care of the family dogs, he was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for his family, watching classic movies, and he was a avid Steeler Fan. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 2-4:00 pm and 6-8:00 pm at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Connie Garlick officiating. Internment to follow at the Reform Cemetery, Meyersdale .
