Walter Luther Bear, 90, Meyersdale. Died
March 27, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Meyersdale.
Born in Meyersdale November 13, 1925 to the late
Peter and Mayme (Klingaman) Bear. Preceded in death
by his wife, Elizabeth. Daughter, Sheila. Son-In-Law, Oran
Knopsnyder, Grandson, William Oran Cox, Granddaughter,
Elaine Baer, and Great Grandson, Chad Cox. Survived by
his sons; William “Bill” (Mildred ) Cox, Paul “Barry”
(Cathy) Baer, and Richard (Sandy) Baer. Daughters;
Donna Knopsnyder, Sharon (Bill) Grasser, Linda (Ray)
Haer and Robyn (Kevin) Broadwater. Sisters; Arlene
(Ray) Sterner, Esther (Bill) Harris, and Ruth Barney.
Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and
Great Great Grandchildren. Walter was a member
of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren,
Meyersdale V.F.W. Post #112 where he was past
commander and past county commander, and
belonged to the American Legion Charles E. Kelley.
Walter was in the Army of the United States, and
served in World War II. Walter was a conductor on
the B & O Railroad. Friends and family will be received on
Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the M. Ray Leckemby
Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday
at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Kaltenbaugh
officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
