Ronald Eugene Weaver, age 77 of Meyersdale, passed away at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 10th, 2021. He was an E-6 Army veteran (1965 thru 1967), and was with the rotary wing division out of Ft. Belvoir, VA.


He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna (Firl) Weaver, and his son, Ronald Todd Weaver (Veronica), two brothers, Robert (Rise) and William (Sue), as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, including JoLinda Meyers of Virginia. He was preceded in death by a son, Troy Bryan Weaver along with Ron’s parents, William E. and Sara L. (Keefer) Weaver of Meyersdale, stepmother Mary (Decker), and two sisters (Bonnie Jean Moe, Las Vegas, NV; and Julie Hornig, of Florida.).


Ron was a mechanical engineer and traveled throughout the United States and Canada for over 40 years installing bakery equipment. He was employed by Velten and Pulver out of Chicago Ridge, IL, and Conveyors, Inc. of Mansfield, TX; as well as EnMotion Conveyors of both Dallas, TX and Aurora, CO.


He was active in the Optimist Club in Arlington, TX where he coached several boys’ baseball leagues. He loved to travel and was always looking for special places to take the family. He enjoyed major league football and baseball. He was an avid animal lover and was kept busy with his three felines.


After retiring from traveling in 1998, the family returned to Meyersdale and Ronnie worked for Broadwater and Bender out of Addison, and later was a driver for Health Ride Plus.


A private memorial service will be held in the spring.
