Merle Clinton Bittner, 78, Meyersdale, went to be with his Lord and Savior September 16, 2018 at his home, with his wife by his side. Born February 29, 1940 in Meyersdale to the late Raymond and Alberta (Connor) Bittner. Preceded in death by his sons; Merle Clinton Bittner, Jr. and Gerald Wayne Bittner. Grandson, Billy Leon Maust. In-laws, Henry and Ethel Parsons. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia (Ginger) Parsons-Bittner. Children; Brenda (Bill) Maust, Glenn (Micki) Bittner, Cindy Walker, and Scott (Donna) Bittner. Grandchildren; Misty (Josh) Hetz, David (Andrea) Walker, Jessica (Ernie) Durr, Faith Bittner, and (3) Step-Grandchildren. Great-Grandchildren; Gavin and Zoe Hetz, Ali and Adam Walker, Kyla Durr, and (2) Step-Great Grandchildren. Siblings; Donald R. Bittner, Leroy W. Bittner, Sharon Robinson, Gloria Geary, and Karon Thompson. Sister-In-Law, Carol Craze. Merle was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and a true friend. He was a humble man that never asked for much, but would give all he had when helping others. He loved to hunt and fish. Merle could tell you a story. Merle loved his family and friends and will be missed by all the hearts he touched. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2-4:00 p m and 6-8:00 pm at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Morris officiating. Internment to follow at St. John's Cemetery.
