Margaret Ellen (Schrock) Brocht

Margaret Ellen Brocht, 98, Meyersdale, died December 6, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hays Mill, November 2, 1925 to the late Nevin and Ida Mae (Phillippi) Schrock. Preceded in death by her parents. Husband, Thomas Brocht. Daughter, Ruth Brocht. Grandchildren, Tory Minnick and Robert Shope. Brothers; Edgar, Richard, Nevin, James, Jerry, and Sanford Schrock. Sisters; Esther Bodes, Annie Snyder, Vendora Nicholson, Ida Schrader, Nelda Ruth Weld, Mary Schrock, Susan Schrock, and Sarah Schrock. Survived by her son, Thomas (Debra) Brocht. Daughters; Jane (William) Shope, Frances (Terry) Streng, Julie (Dean) Weimer, Susan (Michael) Shumaker, Sarah Brocht, and Amy (Robert) Minnick. Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Great Great Granddaughter, Hazel. Margaret was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Meyersdale. She loved her family, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of people and she loved animals. She enjoyed working at the Tot & Teen clothing store, helping dress many local children in the area. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11 – 12:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church. The Memorial Service will follow the gathering at 12:00 PM with Pastor Glenn Foster officiating. Private committal service at Highland Cemetery, Garrett. Arrangements by M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home.
