Lydia Mae (Baker) Hampe

Lydia Mae (Baker) Hampe, 102, of Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2025. Born in the village of Pocahontas, December 1, 1922 to the late Daniel and Eleonora (Brown) Baker. Preceded in death by husband, Clyde A. Hampe. Infant son, Clyde, Jr. Daughter, Janet. Grandson, Robbie Hampe. Brother, Fred. Sisters; Grace, Mabel, Marie, Marybelle, Leona, Anna Pearl, and Virginia. Survived by two sons, Ron (Dawn) Hampe and Mike (Wendy) Hampe. Four daughters; Eleonora Fisher, Naomi Sipple, Kathy (Bill) Cannon, and Tammy Hampe. Six Grandchildren. Eight Great Grandchildren. Lydia grew up on a farm and worked at the Celanese Fibers Corp. where she helped to make parachutes during World War II, before she married. Lydia had many hobbies over the years. She enjoyed jigsaw and word search puzzles, coloring, reading, and playing cards, as well as traveling with the family. She always kept her sense of humor, which she credited for her long life. She was a member of the Hostetler Church of the Brethren. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Monday at 11:00AM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Irvin Ernest officiating. Interment at the Greenville Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangement by the M.
