Larry Delano Stewart, Sr, 87, Meyersdale went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 31, 2026 at the Goodwill Retirement Community. Born in New Columbia, PA June 30, 1938 to the late Kenneth and Mae (Fisher) Stewart. Preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Megan Hetz. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie (Shaffer) Stewart. Sons; Larry (Toni) Stewart, Jr., James (Thomasine) Stewart, Matthew (Tiffany) Stewart, Robert (Jessica) Stewart, Brandon (Beth) Stewart, and Zachary (Megan) Stewart. Daughters; Darla (Mark) Shifflett, Tizzie (Scott Hahn) Hetz, and Shirley (John) Bartlebaugh. Bonus daughter, Stephanie (Dan) Donaldson. Grandchildren; Casey (Anita) Stewart, Chace (Courtney) Stewart, Caleb (Stephaney) Stewart, Dezirae (Mike) Warnick, Brandon (Mckenna) Shifflett, Derek (Taryn) Shifflett, Ryan Shifflett, Glen (Paige) Hetz, Tyler (Wendy Brenneman) Hetz, Shiyan (Charles) Ross, Kaitlyn Bartlebaugh, Leo Stewart, and Timothy Johnson. Great Grandchildren; Brinlee Lane, Leighton Hetz, Kohen Ross, Jensen Shifflett, Easton Brenneman, Paisley Brenneman, Luke Stewart, Aliyah Warnick, Izayah Warnick, Simon Costa, Andrew Costa, Elijah Gaines, Scarlett Stewart, Hazel Stewart, Levi Stewart, Naomi Stewart, and two on the way. Larry was a member and Pastor of the Pentecostal Apostolic Church for 40 plus years. He was a licensed minister for 65-years with UPCI and Sunday School / Children Ministries for 40 years for the state of PA. “Larry was the little boy at the barber shop who jumped right off the seat like “Superman”, Superman was Larry's favorite character. Larry was just like Superman, he was kind, he had strength to lift others up, loving, he brought out the best in everyone, never met a stranger, and shared his life with so many. Most importantly Larry was a Christian Man of God, he had a heart of gold. Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 1:00 – 6:00 PM at the Pentecostal Apostolic Church 263 Large Street, Meyersdale. The Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday April 4, 2026 at the Paul Fuller Playground in Meyersdale, with Pastor Steve Cannon and Pastor Mark Shifflett officiating. Interment Custer Cemetery, Hollsopple, PA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pentecostal Apostolic Church 263 Large Street Meyersdale, PA 15552 in memory of Larry.
