Joan Irene (Butler) Resh

Joan Irene (Butler) Resh, 88, Grantsville went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2019. Born in Grantsville July 22, 1930 to the late Abram Melvin and Arminta (Durst) Butler. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Kenneth R. Resh. Loving daughter, Beverly Rae Resh. Brothers; Lloyd, Robert, Harold, Arthur, Ray, Claude, and Fay Butler. Sisters; Beula Merrbach, Mary Brown, Fern Fitzpatrick, and Florence Tharp. She was the last surviving member of her family. Joan was a loving and devoted mother to her five children; Sherry (John) Robertson, Gary (Debbie) Resh, Randy (Carol) Resh, Jay (Paula) Resh, and the late Beverly Resh. Twelve Grandchildren; Natalie (Dave) Carr, Nanette (Doug) Johnson, Monica (Steve) Troutman, Angie (Gary) Hay, Erin (David) Rounds, Nathan Resh, Joel Resh, Jackie Resh, Jamie Resh, Jared (Jen) Resh, Josh (Samantha) Resh, and Cortney (Aaron) Mitchell. Twelve Great Grandchildren; Bobby Hay, Jonnie Hay, Tad Hay, Josie Kamp, Felicia Wilson, Clay Resh, Carolyn Daniels, Sterling Resh, Gunnar Resh, Eli Resh, Nora Resh, and Scarlett Mitchell. One Great Great Grandchild, Addie Hay. Joan also has one great granddaughter on the way. She spent many years as a dairy farmer at their farm in Pennsylvania. After retiring from the dairy business, Joan worked at the Deer Valley YMCA Camp for 20 years retiring from there in 1995. After retirement Ken and Joan moved to their home in Grantsville. Joan was a member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, Grantsville, Maryland. Family and friends will be received on Friday 2-4
and 6-8 PM at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, PA. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home Saturday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mert Maust officiating with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Per Joan's wishes, she will be cremated following the service, inurnment will be private.
