Joan (Gordon) Fisher "flew away" to be with our Lord March 24th, 2021. She was preceded in death by beloved husband, George Fisher. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Gordon) Litka, her daughters, Judy (Fisher) Shumaker, Dana Menser, sons George ("Porge") Fisher Jr. and wife Debbie, Joe Fisher and wife Debbie (Diveley) Fisher, John "Mick" Fisher and girlfriend Karen Miller. Grandchildren Diane (Younkin) Belcher, Denise "Neese" Younkin, James Younkin and wife Tracy, Jessica (Shumaker) Solarczyk and husband Bob, Kelli Jo (Fisher) Kathrein and husband Cameron Kathrein, Corey Menser, Michelle (Fisher) Evans, Jason Fisher. Great-Grandchildren: Kendra (Clapper) Burke and husband Mike. Alyssa Younkin, Alex Younkin, Noah Solarczyk, Katie Ledwich, Sawyer Solarczyk, Emerson Solarczyk, Maxwell Kathrein, Dylan Belcher, Chris Belcher, P.J. Lowery (deceased), Trace Belcher, Quinn Belcher, Kerrigan Evans, Zachary Evans, Jacob Evans. Great-Great Grandson Braxton Burke. In her more than ninety years on Earth, she was known and loved by many. She considered everyone she knew to be one of "her children" and loved and mothered them all. These are some of her children - related not by blood, but by love: Mindy and Dan Pletcher, Kassie Campbell and Brennan "Bubba" Campbell, Chris (Faidley) Brant, Tom Clapper. The "Hill Daycare" kids that she nurtured and cared for: Inez "Pooh" O'Donnell, Josh Bolden, Amanda Bennett, Celeste Decker, Richie Brant, Eric Minnick, Jessica Savage, Heather Savage and Joshua Savage. Those that came into her life most recently: Allison and Chad Stouffer, Camden Stouffer, Amelia Stouffer, Alexis and Tyler Dreistadt, Demi Dreistadt. Special thanks to these special friends: Barb Belcher, The Geiger family, Joan Duvall, Joann Berkley, June Stiffey and Lottie Sutton, Leeann and Jeff Yoder, Pastor Mark Valentine and everyone in the Main Street Brethren Church, Roger Weimer, the Bolden family, Jamie Livengood, Susan Murray, Sally Miller, Lisa Christner, Dr. Kalenak and everyone at the Meyersdale Conemaugh Home Health facility and all the nurses that visited her. Floyd and the girls at the G.I. Day Room, the Thomas Drug Store, the Carlyle family, Lenny Sacco, Nan Johnson of the Leckemby Funeral Home. Joan touched so many lives that it is not possible to name everyone, but please know she loved you all. She appreciated and never forgot all the kindness she received in her lifetime, and she never forgot any of "her children". In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions in Joan's name be made to the Union Rescue Mission of Western Maryland, P.O. Box 1614, Cumberland, MD 21501. A memorial service will be held on April 11th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Main Street Brethren Church in Meyersdale. Everyone is invited to come and celebrate the life of a great mother and a grand lady.
