James “Bernie” Bernard Murphy, 81, Meyersdale, died November 25, 2023 at Countryside Personal Care Home in Friedens. Born in Meyersdale, November 13, 1942 to the late Joseph E. and Evelyn (Johnson) Murphy. Preceded in death by his parents. Brother, Joseph A. Murphy. Sister, Shirley Murphy. Great Nephews, Andrew E. and Joseph E. Murphy. Survived by his brother, Carl E. (Patty) Murphy. Sister, Deborah Shouse of Mount Vernon, GA. Nephews, Brian (Melissa) Murphy and Larry (Susan) Murphy and their families. Niece, Melissa (Patrick) Oliver and her family. Sister-in-law, Joan Murphy. Bernie worked at Johnson Memorial Company for 62 years as a sandblaster. Bernie liked doing art work, hunting, fishing, and listening to Classical and Oldies Rock & Roll Music. He was a member of the Meyersdale Moose Lodge 76 and was a member of Amity UCC. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 10 – 12:00 PM at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow the viewing at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Shaulis officiating. Interment at the Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
