Obituary

Gary Don Christner, Sr., 82, Garrett, died peacefully at home on November 9, 2021. Born June 13, 1939 in Meyersdale, PA. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Evelyn Rebecca (Boden) Christner. Wife, Barbara (Hotchkiss) Christner. Brother, William Christner. Survived by children; Casey Christner and his wife Deb (DuPont) and Melissa Keefer and her husband Mike. Sister, Lana Lafferty. Special uncle, Bruce Boden. Special friend, Lois Rugg. Three Grandchildren. Three Great Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews. Gary served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea in 1964-1965. He was a life member of the American Legion and Salisbury VFW. Gary retired as a brakeman on the CSX Railroad. The family would like to thank his caregivers and friends for their love, compassion, and care given to him during the past four years; Lois, Mike, Anna, Ruth, Brenda, Susie, Bobbi, Haile, Deb and Todd, the Veteran's Administration, Conemaugh Home Health, and In-Touch Hospice.
