Ford Russell Shankle, Jr.

Ford R. Shankle, 95, Meyersdale. Died February 5, 2020 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 5, 1924, in Buck Run, Pennsylvania. Son of the late Ford and Mildred (Lambing) Shankle, Sr.. Ford lived most of his life in Indiana County, a few years in Michigan and Meyersdale, Pa. He retired from the Indiana County Blind Association as a workshop supervisor. Ford was a member of Two Lick Valley Senior Center, where he was in the band. Ford is survived by his wife of 56-years, Dorothy (Hancock) Shankle. Son Evan W. Shankle and wife Connie (Stewart) Shankle. Three grandsons: Evan W., Eric M., and Ethan F. all of Meyersdale. He has several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Shankle. Sisters: Milred Oresik and Jane Savick. Infant son, Robert.
