Esther E (Etter) Basehore

Esther Etter Basehore, 95, Meyersdale. Died February 22, 2016 at Western Maryland Health
System. Born in Hershey, Pa. on May 12, 1920 to the late John S. and Eliza (Gelsinger) Etter.
Preceded in death by her husband, Herman Edwin Basehore. Son, H. Edwin Basehore.
Brothers; Paul Etter, John Etter. Sister, Catherine Clark. Survived by son, Dale Basehore and wife,
Marjorie of Kent, Minnesota. Daughters; Shirley Vought and husband Timothy of Garrett, Pa. and Karen Basehore and spouse Diane Dutt of Stewartstown, Pa. Eight Grandchildren.
Twelve Great Grandchildren. Esther was a member of the Somerset
County Library Board, Past President of Meyersdale Womens Club Junior Section and County, Past President of Meyersdale Library, member of Canton Easter Star #71 Order of Eastern Star,
Past Worthy Matron of Meyersdale Chapter #548 Order of the Eastern Star, served as Martha Ruth Starpoints, member of the Somerset County Children's Aid Society, a member of the Amity United Church of Christ, and Amity UCC choir. Friends and family will be received on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 2-4:00 PM at the Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale. The Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor Harold and Connie Garlick officiating. Inurnment to follow
at Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery. Dinner will follow the service, at Amity Church Hall.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Amity United Church of Christ (Choir Fund) or the Meyersdale Public Library.  Arrangements by the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home.
