Elizabeth A. “Libby” Diveley Schmidt Rothgaber, 89, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, and formerly of Hershey, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015, at her residence. Born in Meyersdale on November 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. “Jack” Diveley, Sr. and Marquerite Hawkins Diveley. Libby retired as a bookkeeper from Metrovision, Inc., Hershey, and had worked for Somerset Rural Electric in Somerset. She was a graduate of Meyersdale Area High School. Libby was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hummelstown. She was also a member of the Harrisburg Area Sweet Adelines Chorus, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Hershey Chapter #509. Libby was a beautiful person who loved to share her gift of singing. She was preceded into death by her two husbands, George C. Schmidt and Donald Rothgaber; her beloved son, Barry L. Deist; and a brother, Edward L. “Bud” Diveley, Jr., and infant sister, Virginia. Libby is survived by two stepchildren, G. Charles Schmidt husband of Rita of Olympia, WA and Barbara S. Smith of Dillsburg; a sister-in-law, Mary D. Diveley of Johnstown; two grandsons, Glen Smith and Dale Smith; two great-grandchildren; one great great grandson; and many friends. There was a celebration of Libby's life held at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Inurnment at the Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery at the discretion of the family. Arrangements by the M.
