Obituary

Cecil Merrill Petenbrink Jr., 86, Meyersdale, died September 20, 2022 at his home. Born in Summit Township on June 16, 1936 to the late Cecil and Olive (Vought) Petenbrink, Sr. Survived by his wife, Carol Clark-Petenbrink. Sons, Wayne (Amy) Petenbrink and Mike (Robyn) Petenbrink. Daughters, Jeanne (Brian) Klink and Shannon (Mark) Brant. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Joel) Sechler, Philip (Justine) Petenbrink, Michele (Ryan) Sechler, Nicole (Mark) Ferris, Valerie (Kyle) Haulk, Hannah (Josh) Shaffer, Cole (Taylor) Brant, Hayley (Shawn) Baer, Courtney (Brent) Willison, and Casey Brant. Great Grandchildren: Clara, Natalie, Joey, Grace, Ella, Jacob, Eli, Cavin, Lila, Jackson, Greyson, Oakley, and Aubrey. Cecil loved to square dance. He spent his life farming, and was a Honorary Life Member of the Somerset County Fair and Honorary Member of the Meyersdale School District FFA. Per the words of his son, “God was in need of one heck of a farmer and Heaven's County Fair needed a director”. Funeral Services are Private. Interment Greenville Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Meyersdale Area School District FFA  at 1349 Shaw Mines Road Meyersdale, PA 15552. Arrangements by the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home.
