Catherine Marie (Beeman) Bittinger

Catherine Marie (Beeman) Bittinger, 83, Meyersdale, went home to be with the Lord and join her husband Web on March 28, 2020. Born in Latrobe, February 27, 1937 to the late Buck and Jenny (Hoover) Beeman. Preceded in death by her husband, Herman W. Bittinger, Sr. Infant daughter, Deanna. Son, Herman “Bo” Bittinger, Jr.  Great Granddaughters, Tailyn Felker and Maura Gauntz. Brothers: George, Earl, and Ronald Beeman. Sisters: Minnie Whited, Margaret Garlitz, Ruby Beeman, and Helen Kearns. Survived by her seven daughters, that loved her very much, Catherine “Diane” (Paul) Wilt of Falling Waters, WV, Donna (Ernie) Livengood of Meyersdale, Jenny Mae (Robin) Wilson of Acosta, Debra (Dewey) Wilt of Meyersdale, Sandra Felker of Somerset, RoseLee (Dean) Yoder of Grantsville, and Elizabeth (Jim) Housel of Salisbury. Twenty-Two Grandchildren. Thirty-Six Great Grandchildren. Five Great Great Grandchildren. Sisters: Wanita Horrell, Linda Frantz, and Mary Beeman. Special sister-in-laws: Stella Beeman and Nancy Bittinger. She loved being a Mom and “Nanny” to all the grandchildren. Others that meet her throughout her life would even call her “Mom” or “Nanny”. She loved to make a meal when you visited her, you never left hungry. Her girls also want to share that her favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved to make the Christmas Eve meal for her family, she decorated everywhere, enjoyed burning her lights and tree. When she was younger she played “Santa Claus” for her grandchildren. She always was busy and a hard worker. She always enjoyed being with family, staying with her daughters, going to parties or family events. Catherine even had a great grandson born on her birthday last year. She was a member of Meyersdale Church of Christ. She attended the Church of God in Jennings, MD the last year of her life. Due to the current circumstances, the Funeral Service will be private. Evangelist Leo Lavin officiating.  Interment St. John's Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
