Carole Klink Obituary

Carole Klink, 89, Meyersdale, died peacefully on Friday May 27, 2022 at Meadow View Nursing Home in Berlin PA. Born in Downey, PA April 4, 1933 to the late Leroy and Alverda (Hartge) Yutzey. Proceeded in death by sisters Mabel Kimmel, Florence Meyers and brother Walter “Leroy” Yutzey. Survived by her husband of 70 years, Floyd Klink, son Brian Klink and his wife Jeanne of Meyersdale. Grandchildren Jennifer (Joel) Sechler, Valerie (Kyle) Haulk and great grandchildren Clara Sechler, Gavin Haulk and Lila Haulk. Upon graduation from Meyersdale Area High School where she excelled in various sports and as a cheerleader in 1951, she married Floyd in March of 1952 and traveled to Amarillo,TX where he was stationed in the U. S. Air Force. They would later move to Wilmington, DE where Floyd completed his time in the military and then returned home to Meyersdale. Once back in Meyersdale, Carole started working at Thomas Drug Store owned by the late Joe Thomas at the corner of Main and Center Street. She would also work for Montgomery Ward and as an Avon Representative which she enjoyed because of her love for meeting people and making new friends. A life long member of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School, was active in youth programs, sang in the choir, a member of Women’s Fellowship and the co-founder of the Greasy Spoons +2 Kitchenband with Pastor Dottie Grew. The Spoons traveled Somerset and surrounding counties bringing music, laughter and fellowship to countless numbers of folks who were blessed by this ministry. An animal lover she was seldom without a dog or cat to care for as well as the occasional stray that would stop by. Caring for the welfare of others was always part of who she was even if it was God’s smallest creatures. Above all Carole was a “people person,” she loved family gatherings and camping at Juniata, hanging out at June’s Kitchen at the Somerset Country Fair with her friend June Walker, feeding the seagulls at Ocean City, MD and talking with friends and classmates. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 29, 2022 from 2-4:00 PM and 6-8:00 PM at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home on Monday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Mike Swick officiating. Interment at Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery. Arrangements by the M.
