Barbara Humberson was born on July 22, 1957 in Erding, Germany and migrated to the United States when she was just 6 years old. She spent her childhood growing up in the village of Boynton, PA. Upon graduation from Salisbury Elk Lick High School with the class of 1976, Barb had many jobs, most notably the Meyersdale Shirt Factory where she worked as a Seamstress for many years. After the closure of the Meyersdale Shirt Factory, Barb went on to receive a degree in Drafting from Triangle Tech in Greensburg, PA and went on to work as a draftsman at Cenkner Engineering. Barb also worked part time at Coalfields Mini Mart in Berlin, PA for several years. Barb was the daughter of the late Hildegard (Henneberger) Thompson, also known as Sauerkraut, and late stepfather, Leroy Thompson. In addition to her parents, Barbara is proceeded in death by her brothers; David Daniel, Richard Reinhold, and Edward Thompson. Survived by her sons; Donald Humberson, Daniel Humberson (Jamie Walker), Jody Humberson, and Jeremy Humberson (Melissa McKenzie). Boyfriend, Richard LaRue. Brothers, Robert Thompson and Leroy Thompson. Grand-kids, Joshua Humberson and Helen Reel (Tyler Weaver). Great Grandchild, Leighla Rose Weaver. Barb loved passing time by building many projects including her dream cabin, cooking, and gardening. Her most loved past time was needle working in which she won many ribbons in the County Fair and Maple Festival. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 2-4:00 and 5-7:00 PM at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM after the viewing with Pastor Sam Coughenour officiating. Per Barbara's wishes, she will then be cremated. Arrangements by the M.
