Reverend Albert George Valentine II passed away on March 29, 2018 at St. Clair Hospital, in Mt. Lebanon, Pa. He is now and forever in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Known to his family as “Skip” or as “Pastor Al” to his parishioners, Rev. Valentine served the Lord as a minister and teacher of God's Word for most of his life. He was born in Mt. Clemens, MI on November 12, 1948 to Albert G. Valentine and Barbara (Hobbs) Valentine. He is preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his partner, Mary Lynn Callahan of Bridgeville, Pa., brother John Valentine and his wife Carrie of Mt. Clemens, MI, his sister Nancy Berkompas of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Sons; Jason Valentine and wife Katie of Charlotte, N.C., Steve Valentine and wife Kelly, son Parker of Bethel Park, Pa., and Marc Valentine and wife Joanne, sons, Giovanni, Julian, Lorenzo, and Leonardo of Meyersdale, Pa. and his former spouse Doris Valentine of Meyersdale, Pa. He served the Lord as Pastor of the Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church near Meyersdale, Pa. from 1979 to 2005. He then went on to Pastor Churches in Manistique and Gold City in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Most recently, he served as the pastor of Gladden United Presbyterian Church in McDonald, Pa. Al was very proud of his service in the US Army; however, he was most proud of being a graduate of US Army Airborne School, and his service in Company D (Ranger), 151st Infantry Regiment “The Indiana Rangers.” He is a 1972 graduate of Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. He received his Master of Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary in 1979. As per his final wishes, Pastor Al will be remembered in a private family ceremony in Pittsburgh, on Monday April 2, 2018.
