Lois "Jean" Lepley, 92, of Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 30, 2024, at her home. Born April 27, 1931, in Romania, a small village south of Meyersdale. Daughter of the late Melvin and Mary (Lint) Bowman of Larimer Township. Preceded in death by her husband, Stanley, who died Feb. 8, 1981; siblings, Lottie Bittner, Gordon Bowman and Sue Cochran. Survived by her son Weldon (Annetta) Lepley; daughter, Sandy Lepley, grandchildren, Jordan and Tarrah Cox, all of Meyersdale; and brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Shirl Bowman of Meyersdale; and many nieces and nephews. She worked as a seamstress at the former Meyersdale shirt factory for ten years before her son Weldon was born in 1956. She and her husband dairy farmed for many years on their farm off White Oak Hollow Rd. in Larimer Township, and after her husband died she continued to help her son Weldon in the dairy operation. She served on the election board for Larimer Township for over 30 years. Member of Grace Reformed Independent Bible Church, serving on the consistory board in the 1970s and 80s. Jean loved her family more than anything else and helped raise both her grandchildren. She loved to quilt and made many quilts as gifts throughout the years for friends and family. She always saw the best in everyone and was kind and gracious to all she met. She touched many people's lives with her abiding faith. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home in Meyersdale, and from 11 until time of service at noon on Saturday at Grace Bible Church off Route 160. Interment White Oak Cemetery.
